COST OF MANAGEMENT INEFFECTIVENESS

THE NEED FOR A MANAGEMENT SYSTEM IN ORGANISATIONS

Management Leaders should play a significant role in organisations today.  However, in February 2009 some of the worlds foremost management thinkers such as Chris Argyris and Linda Hill from Harvard, Gary Hamel, Jerry Pfeffer, C.K. Prahalad, Peter Senge, Henry Mintzberg and many others commenced with a global conversation on how to reinvent management because management is not adding value any more (Hamel, 2009).

A study in the UK showed that managers are costing the UK economy £40 billion due to management ineffectiveness.  The question is, how much does your management team – frontline to executive level - cost your organisation as a result of management ineffectiveness?
